Oak Way, Paradise Ca
This home was built in partnership with the Camp Fire Collaborative for a Camp Fire Survivor with very limited rebuild funds. Valley Contractors Workforce was thrilled to take on the project as it provided real world on the job training opportunities while also meeting the recovery needs of a community member. We were thrilled to play a key role in welcoming Shirly Home!

This home build project served as a hands-on training ground for MCT’s one- and two-week construction training programs. Trainees gained real-world experience while learning essential construction skills such as framing, roofing, siding, drywall installation, and finish carpentry. With small class sizes (typically one to five trainees), each student benefits from personalized, one-on-one instruction from MCT’s lead instructor, Bill Norton.
Bill Norton is a seasoned tradesman with over 30 years of experience in the construction industry. As a certified NCCER (National Center for Construction Education and Research) instructor, he provides expert guidance in both fundamental and advanced construction techniques. His instruction emphasizes job site safety, precision craftsmanship, and the professional skills needed for long-term success in the trades.
In addition to core construction training, MCT’s program offers upskilling opportunities in specialized trades such as electrical, plumbing, and concrete finishing, taught in collaboration with local industry experts.
