This home is built in partnership with the Camp Fire Collaborative for a Camp Fire Survivor with very limited rebuild funds. Valley Contractors Workforce was thrilled to take on the project as it provides real world on the job training opportunities while also meeting the recovery needs of a community member. We can't wait to welcome Shirly Home!
This whole home build project is used as a training ground for MCT’s one- and two-week training programs, which put trainee’s hands on tools while teaching construction basics on site. Classes are kept small (between one and five trainees), giving each student one-on-one skills building with MCT Instructor Bill Norton. It will also provide opportunities for Up-Skilling in electrical, plumbing, and concrete finishing, which are completed with assistance from local industry experts.
